THIS IS YOUR MIND ON DRUGS by Vincent Truman

this is the moment. a series of unedited writings from a shroomage.

it focuses you on the now

however trite that sounds

and all relations outside this now

this very now

are regulated to thoughts

in other words

they have no more meaning

than mere slits in the fabric of silence

let this be

a torrential downpour and its white noise

can be made to emulate silence

begone common imagery

the transitory exposition

the red blot

the black hole of transcendence

that one has the will

must have the will

to break free of

is there a genius in every man

or is each wife

along with every other task

made to be a cheerleader and trampoline of encouragement

gradually becoming a pillow to rest on

when the olympics are done

fire

like the ocean must deal in waves

to eminate from

and to ultimately realize

its endings are no different than its beginnings

enter fiction

she walks in beauty like her fright

how’s mike’s ceiling is it dripping

one wonders how much time a woman concerned about appearances

does so for her own vanity or the social vanity she must thrust herself into daily

what does such a woman think of

art wearing a tie is not art

art fixated on itself is art

art in a gallery under spot lights imprisoned in frames is not art

art lying about itself is art

art exposing the truth is art

art for fundraising is art, but on a level not close to the hearts of the fundraisers

let the mind back in

let the mind back into thought

through thought alone can there be anything

ehhh nothing now call back later

my mind’s answering machine was on

hello this is vincent’s mind

we are not in right now

so as you see a lot of smiling and nodding

and the occasional interjection – which is completely "old tapes" and not to be taken as a conversation –

please be aware that nothing is getting through

leave a message after the tone

silence

silence

silence

8:30

cannot tell if i’m heading back down already

but if i hold still

i can still feel an almost involuntary urge

to rise

even if it doesn’t mean standing

simply to rise

but that’s the point
